Celebrating Success

Celebrating Success

Some of you may have read in the recently published Secondary School and College Performance Tables, that some Independent Schools have once again been penalised for their students’ success in IGCSE subjects.

In 2015 all our Year 11 pupils took IGCSE English which is why we have recorded a result of 0% for students achieving five or more GCSEs grade A – C including English and Maths.

Whilst IGCSEs are not currently recorded in the Department for Education statistics, IGCSEs have proven to be a very successful platform for our students to move into our Sixth Form and ultimately University.

The actual pass rate for the percentage of students at Farringtons who achieved 5+ GCSES/IGCSES including English and Mathematics is 78.5%, considerably higher than the England average of 53%. The  results in English and Maths were particularly pleasing,  A*-C grades in IGCSE English Literature were 100%, IGCSE Language 98.5% and GCSE Maths 91%.

These results reflect the hard work of our pupils and staff and Farringtons is extremely proud of their achievements.
