Saxons, Superheroes and Santa

4S held the Junior School assembly this morning and gave a fantastic, energetic talk on everything they had learnt recently about the Anglo Saxons.

They took us through the ages, re-enacted scenes of Beowulf and Grendel using some excellent props and sang a song for us.

What made the assembly even more super powerful was that everyone was dressed as superheroes in aid of BBC Children in Need! All of the costumes were fantastic and our special visitor was certainly impressed!

There were amazed faces as towards the end of assembly Father Christmas appeared in the room! He had come to talk with the children about how they needed to behave, they had some excellent suggestions; being good, not being naughty, brushing their teeth, listening and not talking over teacher. Mr Charlton read a letter that he had written to Father Christmas when he was just a little boy in 1970. Father Christmas also brought with him some very special gifts of exciting books for the Junior School, so thank you very much for taking the time to come and visit us!
