Farringtons School ISI Report - November 2018

Farringtons is a school where, ‘pupils' personal development is excellent’, according to Independent School Inspectors.

Over three days, seven inspectors observed lessons, spoke with pupils, teachers and governors, collated responses from parental questionnaires and checked school facilities, including boarding houses.  Policies, procedures, health and safety, provision of information and quality of leadership and management, were all covered in the compliance assessment. The judgement on compliance is either the standard met, or not met, happily not only did Farringtons meet all of the standards, but there were no recommendations to improve any area.

The Head, Dorothy Nancekievill, was delighted with both the educational quality and compliance aspects of the report and the judgement that the school is highly successful in developing pupils’ self-confidence, self-awareness and resilience. Inspectors confirmed that the pupils show extremely positive attitudes in lessons and around the school and that teachers make clear their high expectations and create an orderly and stimulating environment, in and out of the classroom.

Recognition of improved exam results and success in gaining university courses with demanding entrance requirements, was also extremely pleasing, as was the acknowledgement that the school is following its motto and enabling the pupils to, ’grow in wisdom’.

Chair of Governors, Tony Harris congratulated students and staff on the recognition of their significant achievements and hard work. The outstanding compliance assessment is due to the efforts and commitment of the whole staff, in creating an academic and physical setting where students can thrive and reach their potential.
